In 1966 the Italian Archery Association was a 5 years child with very little international experience. The year before, the founder, Massimiliano Malacrida, transferred his duties of chairman to Annibale Guidobono Cavalchini. At this point it was mandatory to acquire visibility in the international scenario as to attract the attention of CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) before the foreseen mock up at the Olympic games in Mexico City in 1968.
